Position requires a command of electronics, engineering, systems integration, computer, and programming skills. Familiarity with SCADA systems and PLCs is a plus. Ideally, this job requires a person who is able to take Controls Automation software and implement them in the field, integrating them with radio telemetry systems, Remote Terminal Units, and computer systems. Candidate must be able to learn quickly, enjoy working independently, and able to travel about half of the time, including overnight stays lasting a day or two usually, but also a week or several weeks at a time as well, although long trips are not the norm. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with end-user customers, taking their requirements and translating them into solutions to accomplish their automation and reporting requirements. Candidate must enjoy challenges, since this is by far, not a routine job. We work with numerous clients in California, Nevada, Oregon, Hawaii, and Guam, and each system is unique. This job entails about 50-60% travel, both in state and out of state. Programming using GE Fanuc and WonderWare applications, as well as Motorola's Moscad RTUs.
